That should give you about the same gain as a single biquad without a reflector.
If you need even more range, there are other ways. The biquad can be extended to 4 quads, 8 quads, etc. (Although by 8, you're reaching the practical limit. The next increase to double the signal is 16 of them.) Or you can build a colinear. For extreme range (wifi has been done over a range of about 100 miles) you can use a huge Yagi antenna on a tall tower (the farthest you can get is the horizon of each antenna - that goes farther out as you get higher.) But the single reflector should be enough for most uses, and if you have cardboard, foil and rubber cement, it's free and the only tools you need are a pencil or pen and a pair of scissors.
