I hope someone can help me with how to import a STL file into ArtCAM Standard 2017. Complete noob to the product so please be patient. Currently using the 'Try' before 'Buy' version if that makes any difference.

Attempting to import an STL to attempt toolpaths and eventually 4 axis. All the Help file states is use the 'Relief' and 'Import 3D Model' option. Problem is I have no 'Relief' menu option that I can find anywhere. From the version comparisons, Standard should support import of STL files. What am I doing wrong? Is it a version restriction?

To confirm this, select the Help About Autodesk ArtCAM menu option in your Autodesk ArtCAM 2017 software. For example, Autodesk ArtCAM Standard 2017 Service Pack 3 (build 238).
If you downloaded Autodesk ArtCAM 2017 from, then you're working in the free version of Autodesk ArtCAM 2017. The free version of Autodesk ArtCAM 2017 does not include any relief creation tools, and does not permit you to import STL files; you can compare the different products in the Autodesk ArtCAM 2017 range. If you have any further questions regarding functionality in the Autodesk ArtCAM 2017 product range, please do not hesitate to ask.

You can now download a 30-day trial version of Autodesk ArtCAM Standard 2017 from. This is available for Windows 64-bit only, and the system requirements can be found. When installing, please right-click the downloaded AutodeskArtCAMStandard2017R1MultilingualWin 64bitSetup.exe file, then select the Run as administrator context menu option.
